About diaphram type water pressure tanks
The water system pressure tank does more than simply store water. It helps to protect the system components.
A properly sized water system pressure tank will provide adequate flow even when the pump is not running.
Water system pressure tanks save energy by reducing the number of pump starts.
Another benefit of water system pressure tanks is that system component life is extended due to fewer pump cycles, so your pump and pump motor will last longer due to using a properly sized "well tank".
The Goulds diaphragm style water pressure system tank consists of a steel tank containing a sealed-in-place heavy duty diaphragm which separates air from the water. The portion of the tank where water is stored is lined to isolate water from the metal tank. This lining is important because it protects the tank from corrosion.
