• Insert tailpiece into trap plain end first. Replace washer and slip joint nut.
• Aplly 1/8" bead of plumber's putty (not included) to the underside of the flange, and press it into the drain hole.
• Apply pipejoint compound to all threaded parts to insure proper seal.
• Make sure the locknut is threaded onto the body with the flat washer in the middle and the bevel washer on top.
• Insert the body through the underside of the sink and screw the flange onto the body.
• Tighten the locknut with an adjustable wrench. Do not overtighten the locknut or the porcelain may crack.
• Install teflon tape (clockwise) on tailpiece and thread into body.
• Tighten the slip nut on trap. If the washer is worn, replace before installing slip nut.
• If you are replacing the lift rod as well, insert that through the faucet body or top of basin and fasten its lower end to clevis with the clevis screw.
• Insert the pop-up plug and pivot rod into the body and tighten the nut. Use tape wrapped pliers on the retaining nut.
• Feed the pivot rod through a clevis hole and fasten to clevis with a spring clip.
