Installations with the uniquely designed RB Clips by Peter Mangone Inc. are fast, easy and secure. The RB Standoff clips fit perfectly: they can't cut into or damage tubing, wire or wire bundles in anyway.

  • Each RB Stand-Off Clip has two independent, galvanized nails that are pre-inserted for maximum convenience.
  • As the driver blade of the RB Clip Gun drives each nail into the wood, the tubing or pipe is pulled off the surface and into the body of the clip.
  • When fully seated, the nails of the clip are driven 5/8" into the wood, and the tubing or pipe is held off the surface. This provides a strong and secure attachment and helps to prevent expansion noise.

RB Standoff Clips Housings are manufactured of high-density polyethylene that is light-weight yet strong. Two galvanized nails per clip are driven 5/8" into the wooden surface, providing a superior fastner installation for wire, copper or PEX tubing and pipe, that is both strong and permanent.

Easy to load! Just open the gun magazine and load a strip of 20 clips. After each clip is fired from the gun, the strip advances into position to fire the next one.

Easy to inventory! Each RB Clip box contains 5 strips of clips, with the two nails pre-inserted, ready to load and shoot. No more fumbling with loose manual clips.

Installations with the patented RB Stand-Off Fastner Clips are far superior to any other method of tubing attachment. Each clip fits perfectly without damaging the tubing - secured with nails, not staples - no nicking, no compressing, no piercing. The stand-off design of the clip pulls the tubing up into the clip and off the surface. This, along with the polyethylene material of the clip, virtually eliminates expansion noises, as it prevents wear-and-tear from the tubing's movement.

Manufactured by Peter Mangone Inc. The RB Clip Gun system is a professional installers fastener system. Installations with the RB-Stand-Off Clips are strong. Two galvanized nails driven 5/8" into the wood provide holding power that is secure and long-lasting.

The unique design of the RB Stand-Off Clip holds the tubing or pipe off of the surface, providing distinct advantages for both radiant heating and potable water systems. In above-floor radiant heating installations, the space between the tubing and the wooden surface allows the light-weight concrete to flow under the tubing, surrounding it and providing an especially strong and stable placement.

In potable water systems as in radiant heating, RB Clip system installations are not only secure, they are also quiet,as the space between the tubing and surface allows for pipe movement and expansion without those irritating friction noises.

Utilizing either the RB-5 Manual Clip Gun or the RB-6 Pneumatic Clip Gun, installations with the RB Stand-Off Clips are quick, easy and safe!

Installation Tips for Stand-off Clips

Each RB Flush Mount Clip has two independent, galvanized nails that are pre-inserted for maximum convenience.

When fully seated, the nails of the clip are driven 5/8" into the wood, and the tubing or pipe is held off the surface. This provides a strong and secure attachment and helps to prevent expansion noise.

tubing is held off the surface

Properly applied, each RB Flush Mount and RB Stand-Off Clip will hold in excess of 40 pounds. For most installations, a clip every 2 to 3 feet will be strong and secure. However, the factors shown below should be considered when determining the number of clips and/or clip spacing in each particular application.

Type of application In staple down installations, where lightweight concrete will be poured overall, fewer clips are usually needed to secure the tubing, as the concrete ultimately contains the heating tubing. In potable water installations, more clips are usually needed in horizontal runs, especially when installing 3/4” pipe.

Condition or type of wood Not only do wood densities vary from soft pine to extremely hard manufactured joists, climate and environmental conditions such as humidity significantly affect the holding power of clips. The condition of the wood should determine placement of the clips.

“Memory” of the tubing Radiant heating tubing may want to “re-coil”. Application of an extra clip when fastening tubing around turns will help reduce the problems of coiling memory.

Manufacturer’s recommendation Pipe and tubing manufacturers often have installation specifications for their products. These specifications vary. It is advisable to consult with the manufacturer for product recommendations before commencing pipe and tubing installations.
