Uponor first introduced the world to crosslinked polyethylene (PEX) tubing in the early 1970s. PEX is an acronym for crosslinked polyethylene. Polyethylene is the raw material and the X refers to the crosslinking of the polyethylene across its molecular chains.

Uponor Aquapex

AQUAPEX® tubing
(Engel method cross-linked polyethylene) can be used in hot and cold potable water distribution systems and hydronic heating applications where the system contains no ferrous corridible components or where ferrous components are isolated from the tubing.

AQUAPEX® (PEX A) is manufactured and listed to ASTM F876 and F877 and certified to NSF Standards 14 & 61. AQUAPEX® tubing is rated and listed by the Hydrostatic Design Stress Board of PPI at: 73.4°F at 160 psi, 180°F at 100 psi, and 200°F at 80 psi.
