"Clip It" with the RB Clip System - Fast, Easy and Secure !

Installations with the uniquely designed RB Clips by Peter Mangone Inc. are fast, easy and secure. The RB Standoff clips fit perfectly: they can't cut into or damage tubing wire or wire bundles in any way.

RB Clip Housings are manufactured of High-Density Polyethylene, HDP is light-weight and very strong. Each clip features two galvanized nails that are integrated into the design of each clip. When a fastener clip is discharged the nails are driven 5/8" into the wooden surface, providing an installation that is both strong and permanent.

The RB Clip System is Easy to load! Just open the gun magazine and load a strip of 20 clips. After each clip is shot from the gun, the strip advances into position to and is ready to discharge the next clip.

RB Clips are easy to inventory! Each RB Clip box contains 5 strips of 20 clips each, every clip has two nails pre-inserted. RB Clip Gun Fastening systems deliver a built-in high performance factor for professional work, it's a quick safe and easy system to use. No more fumbling with loose manual clips and fastners. The RB Clip Gun Fastener System is a professonal installation fastening system manufactured by Peter Mangone Inc.

The RB Clip Gun Fastener System is the preferred fastening tool system of professional contractors. The RB Clip Gun Fastener System are also used for wire and cable installations in every field including telephone, tv cable, intercom and alarm systems as well as any round diameter shaped stock such as plastic cable, pipe, tubing, conduit, radiant heat cable, and virtually any application of wire and wire bundles.

No nicking, no compressing, no piercing... installations with the RB Flush Mount Clips are damage-free! Available in three sizes for a perfect fit. Each clip uses two, pre-inserted/captured nails - not staples - to securely attach radiant tubing or PEX pipe to any wooden surface.

RB Clips - Safe Holding Power - The polyethylene material of the clips matches the material of the tubing so that normal expansion is allowed but friction noise is reduced. Properly installed with either the RB-5 Manual Clip Gun or the RB-6 Pneumatic Clip Gun, these clips provide holding power that is both safe and long-lasting.

Installation Tips for RB Flush Mount Clips

Each RB Flush Mount Clip has two independent, galvanized nails that are pre-inserted for maximum convenience.

pre inserted nails

As the driver blade of the RB Clip Gun drives each nail into the wood, the tubing or pipe is attached to the wooden surface without damage or compression.

driver blade

When fully seated, the nails of the clip are driven 5/8" into the wood, and the tubing or pipe is held securely. The low profile of the clips allows for a thin layer of lightweight concrete to easily cover the entire "staple down" radiant heating installation.

staple down installation

RB Flush Mount Clips are also utilized in "staple up" installations in which the installer wants the tubing to be held flush against the wood for maximum heat transfer. In such applications the maximum heat transfer must be weighed against the chances of expansion noises.

staple up installation

Properly applied, each RB Flush Mount and RB Stand-Off Clip will hold in excess of 40 pounds. For most installations, a clip every 2 to 3 feet will be strong and secure. However, the factors shown below should be considered when determining the number of clips and/or clip spacing in each particular application.

Type of application - For Radiant Heating applications when using PEX tubing In staple down installations, where lightweight concrete will be poured overall, fewer clips are usually needed to secure the tubing, as the concrete ultimately contains the heating tubing. In potable water installations, more clips are usually needed in horizontal runs, especially when installing 3/4” pipe.

Condition or type of wood - Not only do wood densities vary from soft pine to extremely hard manufactured joists, climate and environmental conditions such as humidity significantly affect the holding power of clips. The condition of the wood should determine placement of the clips.

“Memory” of the tubing Radiant heating tubing may want to “re-coil”. Application of an extra clip when fastening tubing around turns will help reduce the problems of coiling memory.

Manufacturer’s recommendation Pipe and tubing manufacturers often have installation specifications for their products. These specifications vary. It is advisable to consult with the manufacturer for product recommendations before commencing pipe and tubing installations.
