Flash Water Heater
Takagi T-KD20 FLASH Direct Vent Instaneous Gas Water Heater SystemT-KD20 uses a "Direct Vent System". With a three-inch round make-up (combustible) air intake vent and four-inch round exhaust power vent, FLASH T-KD20 is designed to work when indoor combustion air is not available - making it the perfect system for climate -controlled environments such as colder areas.
The Takagi T-KD20 FLASH Direct Vent Instaneous Gas Water Heater System doesn't store hot water. It generates hot water on demand - saving time, money and space. The thermal efficiency of the Flash T-K20 is over 85% using natural gas and 86% on propane gas with low Nox emission to meet AQMD (Air Quality Management District) regulation. This is far superior to the conventional water heater efficiency. Because the T-K20 is more efficient, it uses less fuel and is therefore more cost efficient to operate and environmentally friendly.
The Takagi T-KD20 Flash Direct Vent Instaneous Gas Water Heater System is designed for use in residential or commercial applications for making hot water. FLASH Hot Water Maker Units may be used in combination and are very adaptable for project of various scale.

FAQs
General Limited Warranty Covered
Our tankless water heaters do not hold any hot water. By turning on the faucet, the cold water flows through the flow sensor and will turn on the burner. The minimum flow rate to do this is 0.75 gpm, with a flow rate of 0.6 pgm required to maintain the burners. The cold water will be heated up to 176 degrees farenheit.
How much money can be saved if a Takagi tankless water heater is used in place of a storage tank?
Tank type water heaters use about *25% of the energy consumed in a home
How much money can I save on my utility bills with the Takagi tankless water heater?
You can save more than 50% with a Takagi flash water heater versus a tank type, storage water heater.
How hot is the water from the Takagi tankless water heater?
The Takagi tankless water heater has a computer-controlled system, which will provide a preset output temperature of 140 degrees farenheit for the T-M1 and 120 degrees farenheit for all other models. You can set 4 different temperatures with the dipswitches for certain models. With the remote control, you can choose a wider temperature range.
How much hot water can I save?
The Takagi tankless water heater output temperature is set by the factory to either 120 or 140 degrees farenheit. Depending on the model, the maximum output flow rate is as high as 9.6 gallons per minute.
What is the difference between the Takagi tankless water heater and a typical tank type water heater?
With a tank type water heater, you can draw hot water as fast as your plumbing will allow, however when the hot water tank is depleted, you have to wait for the tank to re-heat before you can use hot water again. Takagi tankless water heaters eliminate the pilot light with a computer-controlled electronic ignition. With computer-modulated gas valves, water is heated once, rapidly, efficiently, and only as needed.
Can I use more than two fixtures at the same time?
Yes. The Takagi tankless water heater can handle more than two fixtures, such as showers at the same time.
Has the Takagi tankless water heater been approved by Government or National Standards?
Yes. All of the Takagi tankless water heaters are approved by the CSA, and are listed by the Trade Commission and California Energy Commission with an over 80% thermal efficient.
How can the tankless water heater save money?
Most tank type water heaters raise their heat about 3 to 4% each hour. Since the Takagi tankless water heater heats water only when the faucet is turned on, there is no standby heat loss. It only uses energy when you are using hot water, and it only heats as much water as is needed.
Does the Takagi tankless water heater have a pilot light?
No. The Takagi tankless water heater has an electronic ignition system. This means no more wasted gas and money.
Does the Takagi tankless water heater require electrical power to operate?
Yes. The Takagi tankless water heater has a fan, a computer board and electronic ignition. You need 110V but it only takes a maximum 0.8A draw.
What kind of venting system does it have?
The Takagi tankless water heater has a power venting system with fan assistance. The vent size is a 4” standard round vent; it can run out of the roof or a sidewall. If it is installed outdoors, it doesn't need any vent.
What size are the water and gas connections?
The Takagi tankless water heater inlet and hot water outlet are connected with standard 3/4” water connections. Gas connection is 3/4” and the gas supply piping required is 3/4”.
