Armada Technologies Pro-48 Solenoid Activator / Basic Test Tool

The Pro48 Tech Tool Solenoid Activator Test Tool is The "Must Have" basic tester for irrigation professionals.

Here is what the PRO48 Tech Test Tool does:

  • It Chatters - YES.  PRO48 Chatters Solenoids!
  • Activates and Holds Solenoids Open.
  • Generates and Traces with a 1Khz Tracing Tone.
  • Checks Clock 24v Power Output.
  • Tests for Open or Shorted Wiring.

The Armada Technologies Rquipment PRO48 Tech Tool uses 2 - 9v Batteries (not included).

The Pro48 TechTool Solenoid and Clock Checker is a new low cost test set for irrigation contractors and maintenance personnel. The Pro48 performs a series of simple procedures to test, verify, and identify solenoid, wire, and clock problems. Solenoids can be checked using either activation or chatter modes. Lost or buried solenoids are quickly found as well by listening for the chatter. Wiring can be verified and tagged with the built in tone generator function. Clocks also are tested for proper 24v transmission with a simple LED power check.

Made from a grommited, thick walled plastic case, the highly visible yellow Pro48 TechTool Solenoid Activator is designed for rugged use in the field.

The Pro48 TechTool is a portable, battery operated irrigation system tester and solenoid activator. Its functions include:

  • Testing voltage/current from the clock
  • Activating solenoids
  • Testing solenoids for continuity
  • Chatter the solenoid –for location of valve Sending tone to identify wires

Chatter the solenoid valve NOTE: The GOOD LED must illuminate under the “Solenoid and Activate mode” before using the chatter mode.

  1. To chatter the solenoid for the purpose of locating the valve from the clock, turn the clock off and switch the Pro48 to OFF mode.
  2. TURN OFF WATER to irrigation system.
  3. Disconnect both the station and common wire from the controller
  4. Connect the Pro48 by attaching the red lead to the station wire and the black lead to the common.
  5. Select side switch to CHATTER and top Switch to SOLENOID mode.
  6. Proceed to the field and listen for the chattering sound at the solenoid valve.

Sending Tone

  1. To identify a single wire from a bundle of similar wires, attach the red lead to the station wire and the black lead to earth ground.
  2. Switch to SEND TONE mode.
  3. Proceed to opposite end of wire and trace the tone with any Pro200 Series inductive amplifier. Reception of tone and the red LED will be strongest and brightest on the subject wire.
