Mansfield 300/400/500 Series Frost Proof Wall Hydrant Repair Kit (630-7755)

Mansfield by Prier -  300, 400, & 500 Series Frost Proof Wall Hydrant Repair Kit, Part # 630-7755. This kit repairs leaking wall hydrants. Included all replacement seals and hardware for Mansfield Frost Free Wall Hydrants.

# 630-7755 replaces the Mansfield Service pack #630-7964 & Mansfield Service Pack #630-7754, which are no longer available.

• One (1) bonnet for #300
• One (1) bonnet for #400 / #500
• One (1) packing
• One (1) large o-ring
• One (1) brass washer
• One (1) small o-ring
• One (1) back flow washer
• One (1) seat screw

Installation Instructions:

1. Turn off the water supply to your wall hydrant (aka: Frost Free Silcock) prior to replacing any parts. If unsure how to turn off the water to the wall hydrant, contact a plumber.
2. This service kit contains parts for multiple Mansfield Plumbing wall hydrant models and generations. Each kit will service one wall hydrant. Only a portion of the supplied components will be used.
3. Establish weather your wall hydrant has a left-handed or right-handed packing nut. Wall hydrants that have an "L" casted into the left side of the outlet spout have left-handed packing nuts and a packing material (washer shaped piece). Left-handed packing nut designs, and right-handed packing nut designs.
4. Establish whether your hydrant is a 300 or 500 series. 500 series wall hydrants have a round cap directly behind the handle and the 300 series do not.  Additionally, 500 series have a spring loaded plunger on the internal end of the stem and 300 series do not.

To Assure Drainage of Sillcock Valves, Disconnect Hose.

Turn sillcock handle to the closed position and detach the hose from the spout of the Mansfield Sillcock during freezing weather. If a hose is left attached, the frost-proof sillcock cannot drain properly and trapped water will freeze and damage the sillcock.

The frost-proof sillcock assures no-freeze operation because the valve mechanism shuts off water inside the building, where it is (assumed to be and necessary to be) heated. If the building will be unheated for any length of time, then all water lines should be drained and plumbing fixtures winterized.

Operating Instructions:

• During freezing conditions to assure drainage of sillcock valves, always disconnect hoses promptly after use!

The 300 is the oldest model frost free outdoor hose bib also known as a sillcock. It is a multi-turn (from off to full open) valve design.

The 500 is the "middle aged" model OF frost free outdoor sillcock. It is also multi-turn valve design but has an extra feature of Anit-syphon. 

The 400 model is the newest Mansfield outdoor sillcock. The #400 has the Anti-syphon feature but is also has a 180 degree (1/2 turn) valve stem design. 

We could not come up with a "pdf."  Spec. Sheet for for the Model #500, but it is very similar to the #400 with the exceptions noted in text here; multi-turn vs 1/2 turn.

Mansfield 500 Series Wall Hydrants have been discontinued, though many replacement parts are interchangeable with the 400 Series.
