Directions on how to use the Pasco 7040:

To Remove Moen Faucet cartridges and stems:

1. Disassemble faucet per instruction enclosed with new Moen Cartridge.
2. Remove small snap ring that retains stem.
3. Place open end of tool over cartridge, engage tangs with flats of cartridge.
4. Turn knob of tool to screw it into stem of cartridge until snug and not tight.
5. Use twist and pull motion to extract stem.

To Remove Moen Brass Stem:

1. Slide stay ring over the button to keep it depressed. Insert tool into cartridge, sleve until the scored line is flush with top of Moen Cartridge.
2. Rotate tool until the bottom in the end of the tool engages hole of sleeves.
3. With a smooth even force, turn tool back and forth to loosen sleeve.
4. Pull sleeve out.

To Remove Moen Plastic Cartridge:

1. Remove faucet handle and clip that retains the Moen Cartridge.
2. Pull stem to the "on" position.
3. Place open end of tool over cartridge, engage tangs with flats of cartridge.
4. Turn knob of tool to screw it into stem of cartridge until snug (not tight).
5. Turn and pull to remove cartridge.
